Picaxe and the 'Touch' command can be tuned up to do this very well. The picaxe can be set to 'idle' between checking to draw as little as 0.6 uAmps (0.000,000,6 Amps) Wake up and check (as often as you like) and then go back to sleep for 99.9% of the time :) Mini Quiz... So a 240 mAh 'capacity' bat...
