Is There a Good Impact Sensor that Works Well With Picaxe?

Post by ZebH » Mon Feb 11, 2019 5:34 pm

Hi everyone,

I am just wondering if there is a good impact detector that is fairly cheap and works well with Picaxe?

I intend to attach it to an object and detect when the object has had an impact!

Thanks very much, any help would be great!

Hi Zeb!
You can try an accelerometer? What G Forces are you expecting it to experience?

Hi Mr Liam,

I am planning to make a unit that attaches to a person and detects when the person has a fall!

Hi Zeb,
Yes so what you can use is called an Inertial Measurement Unit - or IMU. AN MPU6050 could do the trick :)
