SMD Reflow Oven

Post by Liam » Mon Jul 09, 2018 6:26 pm

Hi all,

It has been a project that I have always wanted to make, but never been able to justify it.. until now! Mwuhaha!

I purchased a $39 benchtop Sandwich Oven, two thermocouple probes and a relay.
Just to clarify, I am a New Zealand registered and practicing electrician so am allowed to play with 230V :)

New in the box

Unboxed!

Original wiring and control circuit. Top dial is called a simmerstat. Middle dial is just a switch with multiple settings and the bottoms dial is a mechanical timer and bell mechanism

Rewired all the elements through a relay, ready for some control circuitry!

12v PSU

Guts of a 12v power supply ready to feed a micro :D

Was attempting to build a controller, but due to time restraints and complexities with ramp times etc I purchased one off tindie.com

Yes we shall see! For $39 it's good practice before I purchase an Infra red one. The only one I have seen is like $250! Time to check out Briscoes ;)

The controller turned up on Friday.
